Mica View Loop Trail Details
Without gaining any elevation, the two-mile roundtrip Mica View Loop provides terrific views of Tanque Verde Peak and Mica Mountain. The trailhead is at the Mica View Picnic Area off of Cactus Forest Drive. The trail merges with the Shantz and Cactus Forest trails, so be sure to follow the signs to continue on the Mica View Trail. Along the way, you'll likely see young saguaros under their palo verde "nurse trees," and you may even spot Gila woodpeckers and gilded flickers in their nest holes inside the saguaros. You can find restrooms, picnic tables, and parking at the Mica View Picnic Area if you need a quick pit stop before the hike.
