Boucher Trail Details
Accessible only from Hermit and Dripping Springs Trails, this trail drops from the rim and steeply descents from Travertine Canyon through a wide array of habitats. Named for Louis Boucher, a French-Canadian prospector whose hermit-like qualities were increased by his secluded camp on Boucher Camp, the trail experiences incredible views of White Butte, Cope Butte, and the surrounding gorges. This is not a maintained trail, and caution should be taken, as there are a number of steep descents where careful footing is necessary, especially around the lush Travertine Canyon. Water is usually available at Boucher Creek.
