Tanque Verde Falls Details
Situated on the floor of the Tanque Verde Canyon in Tucson is this spectacular 80-foot waterfall. As the water plunges down the rocks, it flows into a small creek that travels upstream until it reaches another cascading waterfall. This one is a bit smaller (30-feet in height), although it is equally stunning considering the wild canyon landscape surrounding it on all sides. During the rainy season, the pools are deep enough for swimming, and there is even a rope swing for adventurous thrill-seekers. However, even experienced swimmers should take extra caution climbing the rocks, as they can be slippery and potentially dangerous when they are wet.
