This park was built by the town of Gilbert to preserve the wetland habitats and riparian ecosystem for hundreds of native and migrating wildlife. Since it was founded in 1999, there have been sightings of over 300 different types of birds, including cormorants, quails, warblers, and spoonbills. Various kinds of hummingbirds can also be found in the designated hummingbird garden. The park has been an intricate trail system that allows visitors to explore 110-acres of the preserve property. The best bird sightings are around one of the seven water basins or behind one of the birding blinds scattered throughout the park.
