Affectionately named the "Gateway to Red Rock Country," this short but scenic drive crams a lot of jaw-dropping sights in just 7.5 miles. Your trip starts in Sedona and heads southwest towards the cliffs of the Colorado Plateau (the largest plateau in the country). Immediately, you will be surrounded by red spires and rugged canyons on all sides, and it is worth driving slowly to soak in those impressive formations. From there, you will drive by Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock, and Courthouse Butte, where you can stop for a short hike or picnic. The byway continues to the village of Oak Creek, which is teeming with restaurants, art galleries, and boutique shops.
