Cathedral Rock Trail

For a scenic hike to one of Sedona's most iconic landmarks, spend the morning on this short trail. The entire roundtrip journey is just 1-mile long, although a large portion of it is up a steep rocky plateau with a 750-foot elevation gain. You will need to use your hands as you scramble up some parts, which can be challenging for kids or inexperienced hikers. However, the views from the top of Cathedral Rock are worth every step. The red valleys and green foliage juxtaposed against the blue sky is one of those sights you have to see to believe. This is a popular trail, so if you want to avoid crowds, try to come right after sunrise.
