Brooks Lodge Details

Located on the shores of the famous Brooks River, Brooks Lodge began as a fishing camp. It has been in existence since the 1950s and it now is is operated by park concessionaire, Katmailand. You can stay in one of the sixteen rustic, yet modern, rooms with capacity for two to four people per room. The central lodge features a buffet-style dining room with local Alaskan food and a central fireplace where guests love to hang out and recount stories from the day's adventures. The lodge has stunning views of Naknek Lake, the largest lake encompassed by any national park in the United States. People come from all over the world to watch the Katmai brown bears feast on spawning salmon in July and September. Brooks River is one of several world class sport fishing rivers in the park. The lodge has a fish storage freezer, where you can store your catch until you leave. You can visit Brooks Lodge for the day, or stay for several days. Prices vary based on your choice of activity package. A day trip from Anchorage to Brooks Lodge is $759 per person, while a one night stay at the lodge (including air taxi and taxes) starts at $916 per person. Food and cocktails are not included (you can purchase them separately at the lodge restaurant).
