Tramway Details

A former tramway route (1912 - 1930), the wide Tramway trail is a nice, quiet ride from the valley floor to upper Lake Louise with an elevation gain of 195 meters (640 feet). If you'd rather enjoy a downhill ride at the beginning, simply start from the parking area at Upper Lake Louise, but remember, what goes down must come up to the starting point. **Trail Type:** Out and Back **Difficulty:** Easy **Distance:** 9 kilometers round trip (5.6 miles) **Trailhead:** Opposite Lake Louse train station (restaurant), or Upper Lake Louise parking area
