Lake Louise Details

Lake Louise is the most famous lake in the park and a favorite among those looking to get out on the water. Paddling Lake Louise provides a break from its crowded shores and offers magnificent vistas of the surround mountains and still water. You can launch your canoe or kayak at the 200 meters down from the parking lot along the shore--there is no public launch though. You can also pick up a rental from the Chateau Lake Louise and launch from their dock. Follow the Trans-Canada Highway north for 57 kilometers to reach the lack and the pristine setting. If you are hoping to avoid the crowds, as many places in Banff National Park, set out early and enjoy the turquoise water in the early morning.
