O'Neil Reservation Details
Having served as a gentleman's farm for horses and cattle, and a wartime Boy Scout Camp, this beautiful park is now home to a variety of ecosystems and recreational opportunities. A number of picnic areas are scattered under the pine groves near the site of the original farm, and there are some challenging hiking trails that circle the park and the surrounding area. The trails, which reach some of the quietest and most remote areas in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, traverse old forests, marshes, alder swamps, and Yellow Creek, which are inhabited by a number of bird species. Plans to develop easier walking trails and additional observation sites are currently underway.
