Botzum Farm Details
Early Cuyahoga Valley settler John George Botzum was a veteran of the Battle of Waterloo who emigrated to the United States from Germany in 1836, taking his family from New York to Cleveland to Niles, Ohio. The Botzum family eventually came to own hundreds of acres of farmland in the Cuyahoga Valley, and operated the farm into the 1970s. After become part of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the farm was leased to a nonprofit group that has renovated the Botzum's circa 1906 farmhouse and the 1898 Bank Barn. You can visit these and other historic buildings on the property, including the 1885 Sweitzer Barn, an 1890s machine barn, and a milk house. In addition to hosting weddings, Botzum Farm is the site of an annual summer Sunday music festival. The farm is a short walk from the canal towpath.
