Champlain North Ridge Trail Details
This trail (formally known as the Bear Brook Trail) provides the easiest, although still challenging, access to the Champlain Mountain summit via exposed, pine-studded slopes. The trail runs along a great ridge which is the closest ridge to the ocean in the entire park and has amazing vistas from Frenchman Bay to Great Head. From Champlain's summit, descend through birch groves to one of Acadia's famous mountain ponds, The Bowl. This is also a great trail for those seeking a safer, easier descent than the Precipice down Champlain. Trailhead: Champlain North Ridge Parking area
