Dewey Point Details
Along the trail's route, you'll hike through thinning live oaks, cedar, ponderosa pine, and small manzantia. After crossing an old road -- the original wagon trail into the valley, built in 1875 -- the trail reaches the rocky point where you'll view wide open panoramas of the green valley. It's major landmarks include El Capitan, Bridalveil Fall, and Half Dome. For more amazing views from a less-crowded trail, combine this trail with spurs to Crocker and Stanford Points. Junctions with other trails and sites are also widely available. Trailhead: McGurk Meadow trailhead off Glacier Point Road
