Beetle Rock Details

Named for the Trachykele Opulenta beetle discovered here in 1905, Beetle Rock is .5 mile out and back "hike" that leads to the Beetle Rock Family Nature Center, an educational facility for those studying in the park. If the path is open, you can often times drive right to Beetle Rock if you are not interested in stretching your legs. Along the paved path to Beetle Rock, you'll have spectacular views of the Sierra Nevada Mountain foothills. If you happen to be in the area, this is a great sunset adventure as Beetle Rock looks both south and west.
