Peek-A-Boo Loop Trail Details

The strenuous but extremely rewarding Peek-A-Boo Loop Trail travels cover much of the Bryce Amphitheater between Sunrise Point and Bryce Point, climbing up, through, and down the fins and hoodoos that make Bryce Canyon such a compelling sight. At 5.5 miles, this six-hour hike is just about the perfect way to experience the canyon whether you're on foot or on the back of a horse or mule, which share the trail with hikers. Starting at Bryce Point (you can also connect via the Queens Garden Trail or Navajo Loop Trail), the Peek-A-Boo Loop Trail begins you down a ridge into the canyon, passing rock formations known as the Alligator and the Cathedral before reaching the Wall of Windows. Hoodoos, fins, and towers are constant companions along this hike, and you may find yourself thinking up your own names for the many and varies rock formations. Strenuous and generally uncrowded, the trail gains more than 1,500 feet in elevation, mostly in short, steep climbs up fins and of course in ascending the rim at the end of your hike.
