Running Eagle Falls Trail Details

A hike to Running Eagle Falls is more of an easy stroll on a well-maintained, handicap-accessible wide path. It is one of the park's few handicapped-accessible trail options. The short walk takes you to Running Eagle Falls in less than half a mile. The falls is actually two waterfalls in the same spot, but during spring run-off the higher falls pours water over the lower waterfall, obscuring it with its 40-foot drop. Above the falls stands Rising Wolf Mountain, at more than 9,000 feet. Remember, Glacier is grizzly country. Carry bear spray, make noise and travel in groups. The trailhead is at the Running Eagle Falls Parking Area on Two Medicine Road.
