Two Medicine Campground Details
Before Going-to-the-Sun Road opened, allowing visitors to travel from one side of the park to the other, people flocked to Two Medicine on the southeastern side of the park. Today, Two Medicine is a quiet campground, with 100 sites that open in mid-April and serve summer visitors until the end of September. People can still camp in the area if they bring their own water through October. Two Medicine is located about 13 miles from East Glacier, and the tree-shaded sites are first-come, first-served. Ten of the sites accommodate campers up to 35-feet long, making it a favorite spot for people to spend multiple days. There is potable water, flush toilets and sinks with running water. On the shore of Two Medicine Lake, what used to be the Two Medicine Chalet is now a camp store and gift shop, as well as registered historic landmark. You can book boat and bus tours from the area, and there are plenty of day-hiking opportunities. Sites are $20 a night. Glacier is bear country, and black bears and grizzlies can frequent the campground. Food must be properly stored at all times. One campsite at Two Medicine is handicap-accessible.
