On this guided tour, you will head out early across the Northern Range in search of the parks iconic megafauna. Bison, elk, wolves, bears, and pronghorn all roam this landscape, and your guide stays in close contact with other spotters to help track recent activity. Departing from Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel, the route follows the Northeast Entrance Road into the famed Lamar Valley, with the possibility of continuing as far as Cooke City, Montana, depending on wildlife sightings. Some days the animals keep you closer to Mammoth, and that is part of the adventure. Along the way, your guide shares insight into Yellowstone’s wildlife, geology, ecology, and human history, and provides spotting scopes for close up views. A continental breakfast and deli lunch are included in the tour price. Guests should place their deli lunch order at the hotel front desk by 7:00 pm the evening before departure. Hot beverages are not provided, but you may bring a thermos to fill before leaving. For 2026, tours run October 13 to 30 with check in at 7:30 am and return at 2:30 pm, and November 3 to December 4 with check in at 7:00 am and return at 2:00 pm. Adult rate is 220.62 dollars and child rate for ages 3 to 11 is 110.31 dollars, with children under 3 free. Taxes and fees are included. Gratuities are appreciated but not included.
