Beaver Ponds Trail Details

This pleasant loop trail follows a shady creek up the narrow, wooded Clematis Gulch until the firs and spruce thin yield to sagebrush meadows and aspen stands. The trail passes a number of beaver ponds, and although there are no obvious signs of the nocturnal animals, there are often sharpened and chewed logs hanging about in the tall reeds lining the ponds, and the beavers themselves are sometime present in the early morning or dusk hours. The trail experiences little elevation change, but a junction with the Snow Pass Trail provides an excellent opportunity to climb the nearby Sepulcher Mountain.
