The Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge is a 15,988-acre area just outside of downtown Denver. The refuge, located on a former United States Army chemical weapons manufacturing facility, was established to remove pollutants. The Rocky Mountain Arsenal offers visitors a journey through an interactive exhibit hall at the visitor center, a nine-mile wildlife drive through bison pasture, grasslands, wetlands and woodlands, and over 10 miles of hiking trails, where guests may see bison, coyotes and deer.
