Cherry Creek Reservoir Details

This 880-acre swimming hole is located just on the outskirts of Denver, so it is easy to reach even if you are only in town for a few days. People come from all over town to spend a relaxing day jet skiing, fishing, boarding, and yes swimming. Although most of the lakes perimeter is not accessible to swimmers (it is mostly docks and rock jetties), there is a small section with a sandy beach on the nonwestern side. In the summer, the beach is crowded with families and sunbathers, so it is recommended that you come early to snag a spot to lay out your towel.
