Wilgus State Park Details

Take a drive through the charming town of Weathersfield, and you will come across this beautiful state park. It is located on the bank of the Connecticut River, which means it is the perfect place to spend the day swimming, kayaking, or canoeing. This 100-acre property was donated to the state in 1933 by New York engineer William J. Wilgus and primarily developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps. They built fireplaces, trails, and a ranger contact station, all of which are still standing today. A campground was built in the mid-1960s, and the sites can be reserved for guests visiting in the summer.
