If you are traveling through Bennington County, then it is worth spending a few hours at this beautiful little park in East Dorset. It features 430-acres of hemlock and sugar maple forests centered around the sparkling 20-acre Emerald Lake, after which the park was named. The water is translucently clear, which makes it the perfect place for swimming and boating. Anglers can also go fishing here, as the lake is stocked with yellow perch, northern pike, and smallmouth bass. If you choose to spend the night, you can camp at one of the tented sites or lean-tos in the woods.
