This peak in the Groton State Forest may only be 1,746-feet high, but it gives hikers some pretty incredible views of Kettle Pond, Groton Lake, and the Green Mountains. There are several different trails to the top, although most first-time hikers choose the main 1.8-mile mountain trailhead. The scenery is a mix of granite cliffs, wooded forests, and even swampy wetlands. It is a moderate level hike that has a gradual incline until the last 1/2 mile when it switches and becomes steeper and rockier.
