Vogel State Park Details

As one of the first two state parks in Georgia, Vogel State Park is a well-known area for hiking, swimming, and non-motorized boating. Being at the base of Blood Mountain and located next to the highest point in Georiga, Brasstown Bald, the park has many hiking trails that take visitors around the forested hills. While a short hike takes guests up to the Trahlyta Falls, the Bear Hair Gap Loop is 4-miles long and is the park's most popular trail around the park. For those looking for a longer and more challenging trek, the Coosa Backcountry Trail is 13-miles long and takes hikers towards the Appaplachian Trail and Neal's Gap. The autumn season is most famous here for the various colored leaves that paint the hills each fall.
