Located six miles west of Peoria, Illinois, Jubilee College State Park was established in 1933 on 3,200 acres. Originally a frontier college from 1840-1862, many of the original structures remain thanks to being restored in the 1970's. When staff is available, tours of the chapel, dorms, and the schoolmaster's office are given to the public. Biking, camping, horseback riding, and mountain biking are popular activities at the park, and limited hunting and fishing is allowed with proper permits and some park specific restrictions. Sledding, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling, in selected areas, are all allowed during the winter.
