Weldon Springs forms Weldon Spring Lake in the 550-acre Weldon Springs State Park. Hikers can explore through large trees in the Salt Creek bottoms and tallgrass prairie that is home to more than 30 different species of butterflies. 80 birdhouses are maintained for bluebirds and can be seen through any of the five trails. Picnic in a sheltered area, camp in one of 75 campsites, or fish the impressively big largemouth bass, catfish, bullhead, crappie, bluegill, and sunfish populations in the lake.
