The Constitution Trail Details
37 miles of this 43-mile outdoor trail system is built over existing railroad tracks that were once used by the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. It runs north to south from Normal to Bloomington and contains several trailheads that branch off, giving you the chance to see different sights like suburban neighborhoods, wooded forests, and historic landmarks. Along the main trail (the Illinois Central), you can visit parks, ride through or a tunnel, or stop by the famous Beer Nuts production plant. The Bloomer Line Branch is more residential, although there are some smaller parks and prairies along the way. You can also ride along the Route 66 branch, which as its name implies, connects directly to the historic scenic byway.
