Resaca de la Palma State Park Details
A birdwatcher's paradise, this park is one of the only three places in the country that belong to the World Birding Center. As such, the entire area aims to conserve and restore bird and wildlife habitats along the Rio Grande Valley. The park opened to the public in 2008 and contains over 65-acres of marshy wetland, 420-acres of dense woodlands, and 720-acres of mesquite woodlands and savannahs. While the main activity in the park is birdwatching (don't forget to rent a pair of binoculars from the park store), visitors can also partake in numerous other activities, including hiking, cycling, and photography. There's even an on-site butterfly garden and multiple observation decks where you can enjoy the pristine views over the park. Entrance Fees - Adult Day Use: $4 Daily - Child 12 Years and Under: Free
