In fact, the island is famous for its white-sand beaches and world-class water sports and activities. And with over 30-miles of coastline to explore, you could easily spend a whole weekend and still not even scratch the surface of what this place has to offer. Horseback riding, dolphin watching, deep-sea fishing, and beachcombing are just a few activities you can do during your visit. You can also take a guided bird walk at the South Padre Island Birding, Nature Center & Alligator Sanctuary to see coastal Roseate Spoonbill, Reddish Egret, Brown Pelicans, and Tricolored Heron.
