Pisgah Hill Preserve Details
This 176-acre preserve has a 1.2-mile loop trail that crosses over a stream, passes an old stone quarry, and makes its way to the summit with a restricted scenic view. The Royal River Conservation Trust holds a popular full-moon hike and bonfire at the summit each year. The lesser-visited section of the preserve is located off North Pownal Road and offer a half-mile trail and is designed mainly with hunters in mind. Whether looking for mushrooms or out scouting for range fowl, the trail takes walkers away from the powerline and into the actual undeveloped land areas. The path is great for a hike as well and passes vernal pools, woods, a beaver dam, and eventually comes out to woods that are open for dogs and the public to make their own way.
