Telephone Canyon Trail Details
This trail is actually an unofficial trail branching from the West Rim Trail about a mile from Scout's Lookout. The trail passes a small bridge and the spur trail for Cabin Spring before descending steeply into the lower basin of Telephone Canyon. The canyon is home to a dry, sheltered wash lined with white firs and ponderosa pines, and becomes wider as the trail progresses. The canyon's namesake is for the old telephone lines they used to run through it for the park.
