Angels Landing Trail Details
One of the most infamous hikes in Zion National Park, this virtually shade-free trail runs along a narrow rock outcrop with extremely steep, 1,200-foot drop-offs on both sides. Sections of the trail ascend steeply for long distances, and the eminent danger of the cliffs can render this a very difficult trail, but the views from the summit are spectacular. There are unlimited 360 panoramas from the "Landing," and landmarks like Big Bend, Cathedral Mountain, and Cable Mountain, as well as the Virgin River and the Great White Throne are prominently featured. Hikers should be very cautious on this trail, as fatal injuries, while not common, can occur.
