West Rim Trail Details
Winding along the open, sun-exposed side of a mountain, this trail traverses a number of unique Zion National Park features. A classic backpacking trail, it leaves the sunny trailhead and ascends via a number of steep switchbacks to the shady Refrigerator Canyon and the frustrating Walter's Wiggles, a section of 21 sharp switchbacks that climb to Scout Lookout and Angels Landing. The trail then continues to Cathedral Mountain and enters Little Siberia, a wide valley filled with lush, dense vegetation, before continuing upward through a narrow slot canyon and reaching the historic Cabin Spring. Views along this long trail are, quite simply, breathtaking.
