Dan Lawson Place Details

This homestead includes a log home built from hand-cut logs in 1856. You'll also see a smokehouse and granary on the property. Unlike other Cades Cove homes of this period, the Dan Lawson Place has a fireplace made of brick rather than stone. Wood used on the house's additions came from the local saw mill. Lawson himself was the richest man in Cades Cove and owned substantial tracts of land in the valley.
