Saddle Mountain Details
This extinct volcano sits on the North Rim and is the centerpiece of the 40,000-acre Saddle Mountain Wilderness, which lies just outside the boundary of Grand Canyon National Park. The mountain rises to 8,000 feet, and this and other peaks along the Boundary Ridge can be accessed via the Saddle Mountain Trail. The trail affords gorgeous views of the Grand Canyon. Venture further into the wilderness preserve and you may encounter a buffalo herd in House Rock Valley.
