Divide Warden Cabin Details

When it was build in 1922, the Divide Warden Cabin was intended to house wardens whose job it was to patrol Banff National Park on horseback in the summertime, and on snowshoes or skis in the wintertime. The cabin was just one in a network to minimize travel time between cabins and points within the park. The Divide Warden Cabin is located in the Divide Pass within the park, surrounded by shrub thickets, larch and an open spruce-fir forest. The cabin serves as an important landmark to hikers, backpackers, skiers and snowshoers who are making their way through the area. The Divide Warden Cabin is listed on Canada's Historic Places and the Canadian Register, and is a Federal Heritage Building.
