When it was build in 1930, the Clearwater Lakes Warden Cabin was intended to house wardens whose job it was to patrol Banff National Park on horseback in the summertime, and on snowshoes or skis in the wintertime. The cabin was just one in a network to minimize travel time between cabins and points within the park. The Clearwater Lakes Warden Cabin sits at the base of Mt. Harris, surrounded by a spruce forest and overlooking Clearwater Lake. The cabin serves as an important landmark to hikers, backpackers, skiers and snowshoers who are making their way through the area. The Clearwater Lakes Warden Cabin is listed on Canada's Historic Places and the Canadian Register, and is a Federal Heritage Building.
