Canadian Pacific Railway Station - Lake Louise Details
The small, log railway station was built in 1910 to support the amount of people coming to Banff National Park as a result of Canadian Pacific's efforts to increase tourism in the area. Located adjacent to the Chateau Lake Louise, which was owned by Canadian Pacific Railway, both the railway station and the hotel formed the geographical and economic core of Lake Louise. Today, the Canadian Pacific Railway Station in Lake Louise is the villages oldest, and is still used by the Royal Canadian Pacific train service. It is listed on Canada's Historic Places and the Canadian Register, and is a Federal Heritage Building.
