Johnson Lake Details
Johnson Lake is the ideal day trip (and quite popular in the summer!). Located just east of Banff, the recreation area at the lake offers a beach, canoe launch, and picnic tables. During the summer months you will find life guards on duty at the beach as well, as this lake tends to be warmer than the rest. (Although, when talking glacier lakes, that's not saying much!) You can find Johnson Lake off of the Lake Minnewanka Loop Road and near by Two Jack Lakeside Campground should you be interested in spending the night.
