Bridge Creek (Pacific Crest Trail) Details
The Bridge Creek Trail is a short segment of the Pacific Crest Scenic Trail (PCT), which spans 2,650 miles from the Canadian border to the Mexican border. The 12.8 miles of this section are part of the 18 miles of the PCT that pass through North Cascades National Park. Besides being a part of one of the country’s most popular long-distance trails, the Bridge Creek Trail happens to be the easiest foot approach to Stehekin, and connects with a number of other backpacking trails. It's a very gentle trail and experiences a fair amount of elevation loss as it slowly descend to the confluence of Bridge Creek and the Stehekin River, making it an easy one-way day hike. Because of its low elevation, this trail is often clear in the early spring, and the trailside wildflowers bloom especially early. Connecting trails include access to McAllister, Dagger, and Rainbow Lakes. Backcountry camping is usually available at Bridge Creek Camp, but the sites often fill up quickly in the fall when PCT hikers are passing through the area. Loo for the signed trailhead on State Route 20 at mile 159, near Rainy Pass. A parking pass from the U.S. Forest Service is required to park here.
