Easy Pass Trail Details
Easy Pass is considered the most beautiful hike in the North Cascades, and rewards you with stunning panoramas. The trail to the pass is short and very steep, covering 2,800 feet in 3.5 miles. The scenery along the trail is a welcome distraction, however, and the trail cuts through forests of Pacific silver firs and subalpine golden larch, traverses meadows filled with wildflowers and huckleberries, and follows the rushing Granite Creek as it makes its way to the pass. Easy Pass separates the eastern Granite Peak Valley and the western Fischer Creek Drainage, and provides a great example of the different life zones in the North Cascades. From the wide, grassy pass there are extensive views of glacier-topped peaks and deep valleys. Fisher Creek Trail continues beyond the pass and connects Easy Pass with the Thunder Creek Trail and Park Creek Pass. Camping is not permitted at Easy Pass. Trailhead: milepost 151 on Wa. State Route 20. A parking pass from the U.S. Forest Service is required to park here.
