Shoshone Point Details
Shoshone Point is a point on the West Thumb to Old Faithful segment of the Grand Loop Road from which one has an excellent view of Shoshone Lake, as well as the Grand Tetons on a clear day. There is a turnout and parking area at the point. This location was the scene of a stagecoach robbery in 1914. Park engineer Hiram M. Chittenden likely named this point during the construction of the road in 1891.
