Thomas H. Kuchel Visitor Center Details

The Thomas H. Kuchel Visitor Center is located on U.S. Highway 101 in Orick, Calif. It is the southernmost of the park's visitor and information centers. The Visitor Center contains information, exhibits, park film, park passport stamps, Junior Ranger programs, a bookstore, restrooms, a picnic area, and beach access. During the summer, rangers hold programs and patio talks here. Exhibits focus on the coast redwoods and watersheds; many are kid-friendly and technology-driven. The phone number is 707-465-7765. The Thomas H. Kuchel Visitor Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from spring through fall, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in winter. All visitor centers are closed on Thanksgiving, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
