Virgin Islands Visitor Center Details
The Virgin Islands National Park Visitor Center is open daily, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except for Thanksgiving and Christmas, when it is closed. Located in Cruz Bay on the west side of St. John, the Visitor Center is only a short walk from the public ferry dock, where both the passenger ferry and car barge arrive and disembark to/from St. Thomas. In the visitors center you'll find a huge 3-D map of the island and park; exhibits on the history of the island, as well as an overview of the plant and animal life here; free literature on the flora, fauna, sights, and sites in the park; a schedule of upcoming events and activities; handicapped-accessible restrooms; and a bookstore carrying maps, guides, books, posters, postcards, and a few sundries like sunblock.
