Loomis Museum Details
The Loomis Museum is open during the summer and located right next to Manzanita Lake. The museum, which is handicapped-accessible, has multiple interactive exhibits, an auditorium that shows a short film on the park, and a bookstore. The photos and documentation of the most recent eruption cycle by BF Loomis is particularly interesting. In the summer, rangers often offer programs at the museum. There is also a trail that starts here and circles Manzanita Lake. The Loomis Museum is generally open from late May to late October, although dates vary by year. Early in the spring, the museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends only. Beginning in early June and through the summer, the museum opens daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 530-595-6140 for current operating hours.
