Mammoth Cave Visitor Center Details
The Mammoth Cave Visitor Center is your go-to destination for park information, permits, tours, and publications. All park tours start and end at the visitor center and can be booked here (although advance reservations are recommended). Rangers are available to answer questions and give presentations, and there are educational exhibits as well. This is also an excellent location to watch the sun rise or set over the meandering Green River. The visitor center is located at the end of Mammoth Cave Parkway just east of the Green River. There is a gift shop and flush toilets here, and just across a footbridge is the Mammoth Cave Hotel. The visitor center is open year-round; during the winter months (November to March), hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The remainder of the year (March to November), the center is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can reach the visitor center by calling 270-758-2180.
