Historic Entrance Trail Details
Beginning at the Mammoth Cave Visitor Center, this short trail leads to the cave's historic entrance. This is the entrance first discovered by man, and accesses the parts of the cave where the earliest human artifacts were found, dating back thousands of years. Many tours visit the underground side of the Historic Entrance, but if you're not doing a tour you can still walk to the entrance (which no longer is used to access the cave).
