Departing from either Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel or Roosevelt Lodge, you will travel across the Northern Range with a knowledgeable driver guide who keeps up with recent wildlife activity. Bison, elk, pronghorn, bears, and even wolves may be active at this hour, though sightings are never guaranteed. Muffins and juice are provided onboard to fuel the adventure. Tours travel by Ford Transit or minibus, depending on availability. From Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel, 2026 departures run May 9 to October 10 with check in times shifting slightly through the season to match daylight. From May 9 to July 31, check in is at 6:15 am with return at 11:30 am. From August 1 to 31, check in is at 6:30 am with return at 11:45 am. From September 1 to 14, check in is at 6:45 am with return at 12:00 pm. From September 15 to October 10, check in is at 7:00 am with return at 12:15 pm. From Roosevelt Lodge, tours operate June 6 to July 31 with check in at 7:00 am and return at 11:00 am, and August 1 to September 6 with check in at 7:15 am and return at 11:15 am.
