Spasm Geyser Details

Once erupting nearly 40 feet into the air, this Lower Geyser Basin fountain-style feature has been leveled by a steam eruption that caused once the powerful eruptions to transform into a surges of water that burst a only few feet out of the crater. The geyser is invariable in performance, however, and occasionally erupts 20 feet high, with very little warning, but usually occur around the same time as those of nearby Fountain Geyser.
